I was reading this book by Low Kay Hwa. It is a really good book ‘I believe you’ . Which partly got me thinking *what the hell am I doing nowww*. Talented guy who is able to write emotions into words. GO GET THE BOOK!
In the story, there were 2 main characters. Gwan aka Joanna, and Jacky. Due to some issues on both sides, they were refraining from falling in love with each other. Made a pact of “don’t you ever fall in love with me”. Obviously they failed.
These were the things Jacky told Joanna. Which is kinda sweet to be frank.
“Remember this. If you need me and I’m not around, just wait for me. Because I’ll always be here.”
“I am just like the sun and you the flower. I’ll provide sunlight for you to blossom. Sometimes, clouds will prevent me from reaching you. But you’ll know that I’m always trying to reach you. Just wait for the clouds to clear if you can’t receive my sunlight.”
“Remember: To be happy, you either change the world, or you change your thinking. To be realistic, you have to change your thinking to be happy. But, me, I will change the world for you.”
I felt that this was the jing dian *main point* of the whole book. Simple but true. The hard fact that I have been running away for a while now. The hard but simple fact about love.
“Grandma, what does love feels likes?”
“Easy. Tell me, two hours ago, who were you thinking of?”
I thought back, “Jacky”
“Who are you thinking of, now?”
“Jacky”
“And if you are still thinking of him two hours later, you’re in love. Gwan, love is a simple thing. It’s either you love, or you don’t. You can try everything, almost everything to prevent yourself from loving, but it all boils down to this: Either you love, or you don’t. Doesn’t matter how long the love last. You’ll be contented once you know you were in love before. Have I told you about the magnet theory?”I shook my head.
“You’re like the North Pole of a magnet bar, and Jacky is also like the North Pole of a magnet bar. There’s no way for both of you to be close together. There’s a force that’ll always push you both apart. This force is called the obstacle, like interest differences, communication problems and etc.
“However, if you put a metal bar in between, both you magnets will stick to it. And you’ll be close to each other. That metal bar dissolves the force that pushes both of you away. And that metal bar is what we called love.”
I teared when I read this part. Emotional? Maybe a little. All the cross roads in life now, I am not too sure where to go. To stay or to go? To try or to refrain? To grab hold or to let go?Taking one step at a time and one day at a time. That’s the only thing I can do now. I can’t afford to lose anymore things now.
